Prep for LA Rally, Los Angeles, CA, 2/20/07

Attached are some photos of the crowd at today’s rally in South Central
Los Angeles. It was a really diverse, young, excited, and enormous
crowd! If pundits have been questioning whether Barack will be accepted
by black folks in America, the looks of hope and pride on thousands of
faces in the crowd today should put that question to rest. The photos
are kinda fuzzy because I used a cell phone camera, but still capture
some of the diversity and excitement.

By the way, I was a student in Obama’s seminar on "Issues in Racism and
the Law" at Chicago Law in 1995. He was a great teacher. I’ve blogged
about this many times, starting in the early days of the Illinois Senate
primary when others on Daily Kos questioned whether he was a genuine
progressive. I wrote that he absolutely was and is the real thing, that
he was very open-minded and inclusive of students with a wide range of
views, but there was no doubt he was a progressive.

Take care,
Susan
