PetSolutions.com, an online pet supply retailer based in Dayton, Ohio, has been selling pet supplies both online and through catalogs since 1996. This family-run business has strong principles of value and customer service. When it became apparent that many pets lost their homes due to wildfires, either temporarily or permanently, PetSolutions decided to help by matching every pet supply product people donate to four Colorado organizations that need help with the pets in their care.
After contacting the Larimer Humane Society (of Fort Collins, CO), The Moore Animal Hospital (of Fort Collins, CO), A Cut Above Pet Grooming (of Colorado Springs, CO), and the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region (of Colorado Springs, CO), PetSolutions developed a list of the pet supplies each organization requested so each organization can continue helping the dogs, cats, and other animals temporarily living in kennels until their owners are able to take them home.
Surprisingly, the most requested pet supply items were not bowls, food, or beds, but rather toys and treats to keep the pets from being bored. While the different organizations have volunteers that help walk and play with each pet, most of the pets are not used to being in a confined space for so long. In addition to towels, blankets, and litter, the organizations have requested cat toys with feathers and dog chew treats or dog toys that will hold up to tough chewers. PetSolutions will also match Gift Card donations so the organizations can purchase specific products they require.

PetSolutions will be matching pet supply donations through Thursday, July 12, 2012.
